Velti partners with The Peace Cup
2009 to power SMS charity donations

World’s greatest players gather for football
tournament in Spain

Velti (LSE:VEL), a leading mobile marketing technology provider, is supporting the
Peace Cup’s ‘It’s not a game’ campaign by raising funds for The Peace Dream
Foundation through premium SMS donations. Velti’s technology is powering the
mobile donation and contest entries for every person that registers their support
throughout the event.

The Peace Cup is an international football tournament that runs every two years to
promote peace by bridging cultural differences through sport. The tournament
started on 24th July with a 2-1 win for Juventus over Sevilla, and it runs until the
final on the 2nd August in Sevilla.

World stars including Cristiano Ronaldo – who scored during Real Madrid’s 4-2 win
against Liga de Quito last night – are on show during the tournament, as well as
leading players from clubs including Juventus, Lyon, Aston Villa, FC Porto and
Sevilla. Twelve teams in total are taking part in the prestigious tournament.

In order to promote the event an integrated advertising campaign is currently
running across Spanish TV, as well as outdoor, online and in the football stadiums.
Velti is powering a competition for premium SMS donations and the shortcode is
being included on all advertising material. By sending an SMS with the keyword PAZ
(PEACE) to the shortcode '5008', anyone in Spain can make a donation to the Peace
Dream Foundation. The donator is then automatically entered into a draw to win an
opportunity to meet the Peace Cup star footballers, VIP tickets to the group games
and the final, as well as exclusive signed memorabilia.

David Yoo, Secretary General of the Peace Cup Organising Committee, said: “We’re
very pleased with Velti’s involvement at this year’s tournament in Andalucia. Giving
supporters of the competition the ability to text donations means The Peace Dream
Foundation will benefit from the immediacy that mobile brings to advertising
campaigns; enabling fans within the stadia and people watching on TV to make
donations as the games are being played. After very strong support over the first
weekend of the competition we’re looking forward to raising even more funds for the
foundation.”

Alex Moukas, Velti CEO, said: “The mobile device is a powerful tool for turning
passive spectators into active participants. By incorporating a mobile element to their
advertising campaign, The Peace Dream Foundation is able to create a simple call to
action for supporters which enables them to easily and effectively donate to a good
cause; without the hassle of filling in forms or returning to a website at a later date.
Velti was extremely pleased to be chosen as the partner of choice to work with The
Peace Dream Foundation on its first mobile campaign.”

Velti is supporting the tournament alongside key sponsors Adidas, TUI, Marca,
Ticketmaster, ASAP Sports and Junta de Andalucia.
