TMP Worldwide partners with Velti to offer ‘mobile’ recruitment

As candidates embrace the idea of job hunting on their mobile phones, recruitment
and communications specialist TMP Worldwide, announces a unique partnership with
Velti, a leader in mobile marketing services. Velti is helping TMP Worldwide integrate
the mobile channel into its marketing mix, connecting job candidates to suitable
vacancies via their mobile phones, leading to greater campaign success.

TMP Worldwide’s own research shows that undergraduates are receptive to being
sent recruitment information on their mobiles. The company, which pioneered
recruitment via Second Life and computer games, says the partnership will enable it
to offer recruiters another channel to reach prospective employees.

Velti has developed an integrated SMS Response platform for TMP Worldwide, which
allows them to set up SMS response facilities on behalf of its clients, creating instant
feedback and interactivity with the other elements of the marketing mix. The
platform also gives TMP Worldwide the ability to track the effectiveness of campaigns
in real time, enabling them to report back to clients on a daily or weekly basis.

Marco Bertozzi, Director of Media and Digital at TMP Worldwide, said: “TMP
Worldwide prides itself on making full use of the most innovative channels to capture
the interest of jobseekers and Velti’s mobile marketing expertise and technology
platform allows us to consider mobile phones, an otherwise untapped medium, to
reach job seekers.

“Research shows that mobile internet usage will continue to grow and that the
biggest users of the mobile internet are of working age. It therefore makes sense to
partner with a mobile expert to make sure that we help companies reach candidates
in the most interesting, relevant, discreet and cost-effective way possible,” he
added.

In addition to receiving texts and mobile content, recruiters will be able to target
potential graduates in specific locations. Using Bluetooth, candidates can be sent
information about vacancies when they pass advertising billboards, at recruitment
events, on University campuses or even in a head office canteen for internal job
opportunities. For employers it also offers the chance to reinforce employer
branding.

Alex Moukas, CEO of Velti added: “With 46.5 million mobile phone users in the UK,
and this number continuing to rise, the mobile marketing sector is gaining
momentum. As more and more people use their mobile device as the first source for
information, this presents a great opportunity for the recruitment industry to reach
job candidates. Velti looks forward to supporting TMP Worldwide in offering a wider
and more integrated approach to recruitment.”
