Alex Moukas, Chief Executive Officer
Alex Moukas is one of our co-founders and has been our Chief Executive Officer and a Director since its inception in 2000. He previously co-founded and served from 1998 to 2000 as the Chief Scientist of Frictionless Commerce, Inc., a privately held strategic sourcing software provider in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which was later acquired by SAP AG. Mr. Moukas holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Computer Systems from the American College of Greece, an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh and an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Nicholas P. Negroponte, Non-Executive Director
Nicholas P. Negroponte has been a member of our Board Of Directors since 2006. He is the co-founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Laboratory and has been a member of its faculty since 1966. Professor Negroponte is on the board of several privately held companies and is a published author and founder of WiReD Magazine. He also founded in 2005 and continues to serve as Chairman of One Laptop per Child, a non-profit association. Professor Negroponte holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mari Baker, Non-Executive Director
Mari Baker has been a member of our board since August 2011 and is Velti's Chief Operating Officer. Formerly, Ms. Baker was the CEO of PlayFirst, a position she held since March 2009. She was also the CEO of Navigenics from 2007 to 2009 as well as an executive-in-residence at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, which she joined in 2006. Prior to that, she was president of BabyCenter, LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company, from 1999 to 2006. Under her leadership, BabyCenter became the world's leading website for new and expectant parents, winning numerous online health awards and expanding significantly offline and internationally. Prior to her tenure with BabyCenter and Johnson & Johnson, she was a Senior Vice President at Intuit, Inc., which she joined in 1989. Mari led Quicken to grow into the number one personal finance product in the world, along with international expansion and the launch of Quicken.com. Baker also held executive positions at Now Software and Migent Software. Mari Baker attended Stanford University, and served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University from 1996 to 2003.
